The great, good, bad and unknown in the reconciliation bill

The “reconciliation bill” moving through Congress right now is being described that way by the press partly because that’s the complicated Senate process by which it can pass. But it’s also because the bill touches on so many policy areas, and in such disparate ways, that it’s hard to capture it all in a word or two. It’s economic, housing, education, child care, health care, elderly care and tax legislation all bundled into one.
