China says Macron and Merkel support reviving E.U.-China investment pact. Not so fast.

China said Monday that German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron support the revival of a stalled investment agreement between the European Union and China, but statements out of Paris and Berlin only touched on the issue obliquely, raising questions about whether the landmark deal would, in fact, be rekindled.
