For nearly six years, Cochran has helped raise the children born to her oldest daughter, who has struggled with addiction and chronic homelessness. Two of those grandchildren, ages 7 and 12, live with Cochran (“Meemaw”); the other two, ages 8 and 13, live a few minutes away with Cochran’s youngest daughter, Autumn Davis, who also cares for her partner’s son.
