Live updates: Liz Truss to deliver first address as U.K. prime minister

The very soon-to-be former prime minister, Boris Johnson, traveled by jet with his wife, Carrie Johnson, and aides from London to Aberdeen, Scotland, and then via convoy to Balmoral, where he will tender his resignation.

Balmoral Castle is a royal residence and holiday home for the queen and royal family in Scotland. There was a short video of Johnson arriving, but palace courtiers said no photographs of his resignation would be released. Photos of his successor, Liz Truss, are traditionally released.
