World Cup live updates: Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal in scoreless tie with Ghana at halftime

Uruguay had its chances, hitting the post twice. South Korea also showed flashes of promise. But neither side was able to convert, and the 0-0 draw Thursday left both teams with one point in Group H.

After a topsy-turvy first half that saw both teams control the play for extended periods, neither side accomplished much of anything in the second. There was a late flurry, with Uruguay’s Federico Valverde finding the post on a laser and Son Heung-min taking advantage of some sloppy defense to nearly win it for South Korea. But no goals were scored, not even after another curiously large amount of stoppage time (seven minutes, in this case).
