Letter to the editor: Stop bankrolling poisonous universities

If you dig deep enough at any of our problems, you will find government money.

For a long time, the government has indulged in the suicidal practice of subsidizing our most serious problems: Iran, the United Nations, abortion, the coronavirus and most importantly, education (“GOP House member touts bill that would ban colleges forcing students to sign ‘diversity’ pledges,” web, Dec. 19).

The most obvious offenders with the most negative results are the lavish, dripping-in-money universities, secure in their “right” to broadcast ignorant and subversive ideas. They have now hit rock bottom with their poisonous, previously unheard-of support for antisemitism, attempting to drown the Constitution and make life as if it should be a thing of the past.

If these schools were defunded and forced to stand on their own, our country would recover overnight from many of its ills. That would give us the possibility of hope, peace and life as it was meant to be.
