‘Hope not,’ Trump lawyer says when asked whether defense team will use all its time

David Schoen, one of Trump’s defense lawyers, said Thursday that it’s unlikely that the former president’s legal team will use all of their allotted time during the week’s proceedings.
“I don’t know. Hope not,” Schoen said.
Asked whether the defense team might call witnesses, Schoen said he wasn’t sure.
“I don’t know. That hasn’t been decided yet, if there’s a right to call witnesses or anything. They have to debate that later,” he said.
Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) told reporters Thursday morning that “Saturday is looking better all the time” for a final vote.
