Kids are flocking to Facebook’s ‘metaverse.’ Experts worry predators will follow.

“Since there are no guardrails there, you have kids that are volunteering a ton of information,” he said. “Maybe part of it is because the graphics almost feel akin to other kid experiences, like a ‘Roblox’ or a ‘Minecraft,’ but they’re not taking any of the precautions to safeguard themselves in a virtual-world experience that is open to pretty much anybody. And that’s hazardous. If they’re willing to volunteer their age, or that they’re not in school, or the state they happen to be in, what’s to say they’re not going to volunteer where they live, or more details about themselves?”
