This year’s Nobel Peace Prize was awarded Friday to human rights activists from Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. The prize will be shared by imprisoned Belarusian human rights advocate Ales Bialiatski, Russian organization Memorial and Ukraine’s Center for Civil Liberties. The winners have made an “outstanding effort to document war crimes, human rights abuses and the abuse of power,” the Norwegian Nobel Committee said.
