Jim Irsay trolls Dan Snyder with tweet of ‘South Park’ clip
Jim Irsay isn’t done being a thorn in the side of Dan Snyder.
The Indianapolis Colts owner tweeted Tuesday a clip from the 2014 episode of “South Park” that mocked Washington’s owner and the NFL. In October, Irsay became the league’s first owner to publicly call for Snyder’s removal from the NFL as he told reporters there was “merit” to oust the 58-year-old after the team’s workplace misconduct scandal.
In the clip of the episode that Irsay uploaded, an animated Snyder pleads with his fellow owners, including Irsay, to back him when Cartman begins using Washington’s former moniker and logo as the name of his upstart company upon discovering the team lost its federal trademark of the name “Redskins.” Someone can be heard laughing in the background of the footage that Irsay posted to his social media account.

Irsay’s post comes days after a New York Post report said that the NFL lacks the votes to ban Snyder from the league. The NFL has never ousted an owner before, which would need 24 votes to do so. In October, Irsay said he believed there were enough votes for Snyder to do so and weeks later, the Commanders announced that the embattled billionaire had hired an investment bank to explore selling the team.
Snyder’s exploration of a sale remains ongoing with Josh Harris, Tilman Fertitta and Jeff Bezos each being mentioned as interested in pursuing the team. The NFL hopes Snyder has an agreement in place by late March, when owners could approve the deal at league meetings in Arizona.
The Indianapolis Colts did not respond to a request for comment about Irsay’s tweet. The Commanders declined to comment.
